Mark Brooks drew this upcoming cover, and credited Barry Windsor Smith with the original:

However, the image he's homaging isn't by BWS at all, but by JRJR:

So, does it count as a swipe if the swiper doesn' know where he swiped it from? ;)

Yeah, I f'ed up but fixed it very soon after. The problem was that Marvel used the first version I sent for the solicitations instead of the second corrected version. The print copy will show the correct homage credit. All respect to John Romita Jr.

Hey, Mark. I like how your art has taken a little bit of a darker turn lately. Is it something that you've been doing consciously, or is more the inker/colorist?

Yeah, I f'ed up but fixed it very soon after. The problem was that Marvel used the first version I sent for the solicitations instead of the second corrected version. The print copy will show the correct homage credit. All respect to John Romita Jr.

In that case, it's almost worse; you can be forgiven for not knowing who did the original, but Marvel have editors for exactly that kind of thing. ;)
