I haven't been able to stand reading Nightwing for the past couple of years, but didn't he kill someone (Blockbuster?), or allow them to die?
Then didn't he become a villain, or something? More recently...
How the hell is he better (or even as good as) E2 Dick Grayson?
One thing is for certain, Alex Luthor and E2 Superman haven't read Devin Graysons latest stories!
Ay, mi cabeza!!

Why would they? They're crap.
Also that piece of NW ( Renegade) seems to only exist in his book. o.O

It was undercover work. He basically screwed Deathstroke so badly that the one-eyed jerk destroyed Bludhaven and killed thousands as payback.

Always best to actually read the story before criticizing it.

Kal-L judges the goodness of a man by how many bedroom conquests they notch. He's so shallow.

you know i've read a few posts on this subject since kal-l's remark, and i think imo that it's been taken way too literally.
the way it reads to me is that there isn't a quantifible aspect in either man's personality or character that would indicate that one or the other is better.
and that is the flaw in kal's argument, batman is saying to merge would wipe out the people of his earth effectivly killing them, but kal is saying that they would just be made better but if both dicks are the same and not any better than the other than why change.

That was the same thing that I thought when I read that in IC#3. It didn't make any sense to me.

I figured that simply Batman didn't want to lose or give up the boy he raised for so many years; "his" Richard Grayson. I think this is more of a paternal sentiment than anything else.

Ummm.. He didn't say our Dick Grayson was PERFECT, just said he was better.
Superman himself spelled it out pretty well in IC #4.
Dick has grown out from under Batman's shadow, made a new identity outisde of Robin for himself, accepted his own city to protect, and has lead both the Titans and the Outsiders...
Earth-2 Dick was still running around in a slightly modified Robin suit and was the first person to turn on the JSA when Per Degaton tried to set them up in America vs. The JSA. He was not the leader of the JSA or any other Super Team... Hell, I think he was semi-retired or only tangetially associated with the JSA. He was a total second stringer.

Yes, he did.
He stood by and let Tarantula shoot Blockbuster. Then proceeded to get "raped" by Tarantula. That is in Nightwing #93.

The funny part is that Slade stuck a piece of green Kryptonite in his daughter's eye. And he thinks that he was screwed over by Dick?

Plus, Earth-2's Dick Grayson is dead. So the Earth-1 version is automatically a better man, to anyone other than bacteria and fungi.

Exactly. So here is what I don't understand. In Earth-2 Batman is dead, and so Kal-L is giving Earth-1 Batman a new shot at life by essentially talking him there. If the other Dick is dead, then why not do the same thing? Dick is better in Earth-1, and as there is no Dick in Earth-2, everyone should be happy. Why does Kal-L not see this?

Kal-L doesn't see it because he doesn't want to.

What I was getting at is that I don't think the E2 Dick Grayson descended into darkness the way current Dick did. It seems more likely to me that he would be one of the examples for bringing back Earth 2, not one of the "exceptions".

Except, since he's dead, bringing him back would replace the current Dick Grayson with a rotting corpse, which REALLY isn't much of an improvement. The way I understand it, it's a literal replacement, meaning current Dick would cease to be and be replaced by E2 corpse!Dick, who is dead. I don't think it results in the blending of personalites or anything, the people of the current Earth would cease to be unless actually sought out and saved, like Earth 2 Superman was offering Bats. So basically Batman wants a world with HIS Dick Grayson in it, he can stand the darkness so long as Dick exists as a light (lamelamelame, but I couldn't think of another way to phrase it).
Though its possible I've misunderstood, in which case I'd be glad to be corrected.

Who knows? Had E2 Grayson had his own series, it might have been revealed that he was someone who liked to get downright freaky naughty... :D

He didn't stop Tarantula from killing Blockbuster. He did not kill him himself. Though from the way he moped about it, you might think he had.
I also haven't been able to understand the last six months (or more) of Nightwing, and I did not understand Superman's apparent assertion that he was not a corrupted version of the Earth 2 Robin.

Believe me, none of us have. It just feels like a giant waste of time, especially #115.
