Am I the only one who hopes they replace the artist instead, and get someone who can draw people?

No, I happen to like Larroca and he's a very good artist. While his work hasn't been as pretty as it was since X-Treme (which looks back to those levels in Blood of Apocalypse) he's been a consistently solid workhorse.
I happened to like his renditions of the characters that will be on the future book too but who know's if he'll stay? I hope he does but I wouldn't be surprised if he was removed since he's been with the x-titles for so very long.

It all looks a bit too... lumpen to me. Everything has this weird waxy look and there's too much T+A. I'd like something much cleaner and a bit sober to go with Milligan's offbeat plots.
Hell, know who would be great? Ryan Sook. I'm pretty sad to see he's off X-Factor at issue four as it is.
Ryan Sook is my favourate breakthrough artist right now. So fresh, so clean.

Check out Laracca's new stuff starting with X-Men #182, much nicer.
If anyone is gone hopefully it's Chris Bachelo, his art makes the Baby Jesus weep. :)

I like Bachelo's work... its different in a good way. Well, I think he can draw the girls pretty well, but the panels could be cleaned up a little

Bachalo's art makes me weep as well, weep for joy that is. Bachalo is a comic book art god, an icon, one of the industries best ever, and a hall of famer :) .

I've spoken to baby Jesus and he happens to like Bachalo. Because Bachalo is GOD!

I did. It looked much worse, for my money. Too lumpen, too shiny. His Apocalypse looks pretty terrible.
Bachelo's cover for that UXM issue they just solicited with the sentinel head is going to sell me that issue just to own the cover art. He's had a sudden and rapid improvement, and his art looks fantastic AND legible instead of just fantastic. He's the only reason to buy that comic right now.

MMM well you can guess i will disagree, Larroca's revamped style is fantasic, It reminds me of the x-treme days, Bachelo's art is abit too messy for my liking but he's o.k. I will be so annoyed with marvel if they take larroca off of x-books all together because he's just revamped his style and i love his work. I just feel if he's revamped his style then what was the point if he's leaving x-books. well least he gets to amaze me one last time.I hope larroca stays, i don't mind if milligan stays or goes, if he does stay he should bring us good solid issues.

I'm fairly content with the artists on board right now, but I do think Larrocca is the weakest of the lot.

I agree that Larocca's work has been nowhere near its best of recent, and I don't really thing that heworks well with Milligan.
But I think that's immaterial anyway. Milligan will be out after the Apocalypse arc, in exchange hopefully for somebody who's actually read X-Men books, as opposed to simply dipped into them and rehashed old stories.
I have great respect for Larroca, and feel this is the only less than great work I've seen him produce. Under a better writer I bet we'll see an improvement.

I would like Milligan to stay, with a new artist, a lot of the faults I didn't like in the Decimation issues were the artists fault.
I don't mind if he goes though.

I would disagree. Larocca's art was pretty good in these issues. But what can you do? There was only one, maybe two, issues worth of story here, but Milligan stretched it out. It's his script. Larocca just draws what he's been given to work on.

I love both Laroca and Bachalo, and hope they both stick around for a long time. Seems like they would work better on each other's titles (Bachalo under Milligan, and Laroca for Claremont) but with the new creative changes who knows what is going to happen.

yer i agree i think larroca and Bachalo where placed on the wrong books, larroca on uncanny and bachalo on x-men but i am likeing larroca's art on the newest previewe on x-men #182 very impressive, bachalo is doing good on uncanny but bachalo i think is leaving uncanny once the new writer comes along.

Actually, I think Bachalo and Claremont have melded spectacularly. I kinda wish they'd take over New X-Men, they'd be able to inject that real sense of wonder and adventure that made New Mutants so great so long ago, rather than being just a Dawson's Creek take off or just the junior X-Men with essentially the same stories.

I'm the past lack of quality of Larrocca's work upon Milligan :D . My dislike for Millign's xmen isnt a secret , as it every sometimes shows up in non x thread ;) , but i firmly believe that most artists wouldnt be delivering neither their best under such weak plots and scripts .
It also seems that he used this occasion and lackluster run , to experiment a bit with his style ...
Lets not also forget the previous butchering of his already lesser art by Liquid's coloring .
Anyway things are starting to look way brighter starting the Pocy arc .. i predict that by the end of it , or right when it ends , Larroca's art will be back to a top notch level .

i think they have the artists down pretty well. larocca on x-men and bachalo on uncanny is a fantastic combo for me. my problem is w/ the writing. whatever happened to the good ol' storylines from back in the day? like hunt for xavier and eve of destruction?

marvel set them on fire and just ignored every good story their writers came up with. i also predict larroca will be back to the top after the apoc arc and i hope to injoy more issues with spanish beauty art spashed on the pages. i remember when larroca got taken off of x-treme and it was so disapointing, then he went on namor and then taken off again after 6 issues which was lame and then he moved to uncanny did'nt he, then x-men. he worked with marvel uk for ages and then came to the core of marvel in america. where does larroca live in spain or does he have to stay in usa, and what is the cutting line for artists in there age or is'nt until there a cripple
