I wonder what will happen to Gambit at the end of this Horsemen thing?
I be very surprized if he is able to go back to the X-men after this, which really sucks, because when written well Gambit is one of the best X-Men.
Comic Characters come and go.. and come again.. So the only thing that would disappoint me is that they have a lame excuse for him becoming a horsemen, which I figure is likely.

You know, some people don't like Spoilers here. Your thread title kinda screams 'Something is going on with Gambit'. Why couldn't this have been kept with the main discussion thread regarding Gambit as a Horsemen. :p
As for what will happen to him? Well, he's officially not in the X-Men cast come July, though Rogue is, so that gives you some indication. He'll either die, stay evil, or leave the X-Men forever. He's not been really interesting since X-Treme, and at least we won't get anymore sickening Rogue/Gambit angst. :D

I don't think he'll die, though if he does, he'll come back to life at some point in the future. He's easily as popular as many other characters, and for ages was in the top five. Hence, killing him off makes a lot of people angry, and then makes for a sales spike when they bring him back to life.
He might stay evil, but for some reason, major characters that end up under Poccy don't stay evil forever - Angel, Wolverine, etc. Which means he probably won't stay evil and probably won't leave the X-Men forever, since it appears the X-Men will take on just about anybody, and if they'd let Mystique in, they'd let Gambit back in.
The most likely option is he becomes evil, causes some havoc and heartache, and eventually, the X-Men capture him (maybe not in this arc, but eventually) and rehabilitate him. Maybe Logan,Warren and Remy start some sort of club afterwards - like Hair Club for Men, only for those who became Horseman.

With resurrections left, right and centre, there's no point in killing off popular characters.
I'll say he'll stay a villain for quite a while (probably a year) until he swiches back...maybe with new powers or even a new image. I'd expect a revamped Gambit if he returns.

he'll definately be back if he ends up in X4...in the meantime Marvel's come to realize that there's been nothing going on with him so why not really screw around with his status temporarily for a bit...

First, Gambit is a very popular character and I don't think they kill him because of a writer caprice. In one way or another, he 'll be back.
Second, he is already dead in the Ultimate universe. I hope they won't kill him twice in a year.

Heh. If you can kill Northstar three times in a month...

No offence, but I hardly think Northstar could compare to Gambit as far as popularity goes. There'll definitely be alot more backlash. :)

I agree with you .. however Psylocke was quite popular (even thought i dunno if it was the same in USA) and look what happened to her . Colossus was an iconic figure of the Xmen , and again he died ...
Jean is probably more popular than Gambit and well she is still dead , even thought "death is a part of her life" now :p
Mind i hope he doesnt die . I just hope he either remains a villain or the independant thief he once was .

Really? I feel like Gambit hasn't been a "hot character" since Kelly and Seagle's run 6, 7 years ago. Now he's just sort of another X-Man.

To me, a very mainstream Cartoon/ Video Game X-Men introductee... who bought minimal comics back in the day... the top X-Men are...
Cyclops, Jean Grey, Wolverine, Storm, Rogue, Gambit, Beast, Iceman.

Nah, you should run an internet search on "favorite X-Man poll" the results practically always come out like this.
1. Wolverine
2. Gambit
3. Storm
Don't let his detractors (Yes, there are alot of them) decieve you. Just because he's not written that well, doesn't mean he's "just another X-Man". :)
Here's one that's on the website MisterPoll. It's had 147 votes so far.

i think he will recover from being a horseman but be too ashamed of what he did or of the evil inside of himself so he will leave the xmen and rouge for several months perhaps a year.

That's me 8 months ago, but you'd have to throw in Nightcrawler. ^^
