About a character that has spent more time in limbo than out of limbo since his creation. In other words, who cares ;) .

Hopefully he was one of the depowered who fully got their body back, or he's depowered as well as dead. :(

Hmm... is Longshot acquiring a little crush on Blink? That has potential...

I don't read Exiles, so maybe someone can tell me ... is this Longshot the 616 Longshot or an alternate version ...?

It's the regular Longshot, the same who was an X-man (though he can't remember that anymore).

So I don't get it ... is he in no hurry to reunite with Dazzler? Or does he assume she's dead just as she has assumed he died?

His mind and memory have been erased. He has no memory of her.

Yeah. Presumably at some point before he joined the Exiles.

It was mentioned in the book. And Tony Bedard said it was done to return the character to his roots. Besides, he's been mind wiped in the past by Mojo, so this is nothing new. :)

edit:
about the issue- spider-man 2099 looks cool. glad to see miguel used again.
and a preview below, the jim cheung/warren ellis spotlight preview looks cool as well. i had no idea that the spotlight issues were like this. i just assumed they showcased some of their previous work or something.

It's funny when a character who has been in limbo longer than he's been out of limbo like Longshot comes back to a regular monthly, that people have to pick his return apart. Just be glad he's back people, and stop bit<hing about continuity this or how does he not know that crap. Just be glad Bedard is using him.

We're not picking it apart, we're discussing how it fits into continuity. You're the one that is bitching, because we're just having a nice discussion about the book. :p

But you know Beast that a lot of posters bit<h about a character not being used enough, and then when the character starts being used, they bit<h about it even more. If a character that I like such as longshot is going to be used in a monthly series, I do not care about nitpicking his use to death. I just enjoy the character.

X-Men Forever, no need to be rude. Just because someone doesn't follow the book, doesn't mean they don't like a character from it or have some interest in it. Chill out.

I don't read Exiles, so maybe someone can tell me ... is this Longshot the 616 Longshot or an alternate version ...?
Short answer? 616 version.
Long answer? Mojo claimed, several years back, that the Mojoverse connects with all realities, and thus there's only one of him (and by extension, only one of Longshot, Quark, Spiral, Major Domo, etc). We know this can't be entirely true, as we've seen alternate reality Longshots before. However, the easy explanation is that there's only one Mojoverse, but every time someone from the Mojoverse ventures out of it (to Earth or anywhere else), they become subject to any alternate realities that may branch out of it. So there still are alternate Longshots out there... but at the same time, this is "our" Longshot, the one we're familiar with. Tony Bedard's planning on taking him back to his roots, and it's about damn time. Right on.

I'm not picking on you streator, just using your posts as a reference to people nitpicking a minor story detail that is not even a real issue to death :) .

Well, most of the 'What If?' stories were declared Non-Canon by Marvel ages ago. :)

Which just makes no sense to me. They're alternate realities, why bother making them "non-canon"?

We know this can't be entirely true, as we've seen alternate reality Longshots before. However, the easy explanation is that there's only one Mojoverse, but every time someone from the Mojoverse ventures out of it (to Earth or anywhere else), they become subject to any alternate realities that may branch out of it. That's an interesting point, but Mojo has been to 616 several times, too. That would subject him to creating counterparts of himself in different realities, right?
Tony Bedard's planning on taking him back to his roots, and it's about damn time. Right on.That sounds great, but where did you hear this from? I must have missed something.

Tony Bedard said as much on his forums. Which is why he was mind wiped. :)
