AI is not looking for a true rock star. They are looking for safe, radio friendly bubble gum pop. Any potential rock stars will either remake themselves into pop fluff or eventually be voted off the show.

Anyone watch last nights premier?? It was so funny, the things people will do to be on t.v., or try to be a star. The funniest one though, Crystal, the anorexic looking bimbo. Seriously she and her mom combined had the IQ of a rock. I laughed so hard at her. Her mom was hideous too, looking like Cher who had bad plastic surgery........I only watch the audutions. They are the only good part. Watching people make fools of themselves....LOL

Agreed, it was worth watching just for Crystal. Her pre-tryout interview had me in hysterics. Follow that with Paula telling Simon that her mother probably wears as much makeup as Crystal before she brought her into the room.

The sad thing is how quickly this show gets old once the real competition starts...

When Simon told that poor, cute little guy to shave his facial hair and become a drag queen--I thought that was really uncalled for. Whatever humor he hoped to get out of saying that did not register. The other judges looked shocked and were akward trying to say anything.

Simon was also terribly cruel and wrong to reject the Statue of Liberty guy after he only sang two notes. And there was nothing wrong with the notes either. What a dick Simon is messing around with people's minds that way.

Yeah Simon is a total asshole. He aslod said something about the overwieght black girl, he said something about a bigger stage this year. She had an amazing voice too. So what if she was overwieght, the girl can sing. They should replace Simone, but I am sure his rude bluntness is what they want.

Another funny thing is that kid who talked like a girl, and really couldn't sing. His aunt was like he makes me cry, yeah because he sond sliek a wet cat...........LOL

As funny as the try-outs can be... some of them just make me long to poke a pencil into my ear drums... and maybe even hit my brain a little. That cop singing "I Shot the Sheriff" needed to be put down. :(

Well, in all fairness, so much is cut out of the actual audition/interview that we don't know what this guy may have said/done before Simon metaphorically took him out behind the barn and shot him.

And the last guy...I think they pick a few anti-ringers just to keep the show interesting in the post-audition/pre-voting stage. Y'know, loose cannons who will provide interesting TV fodder by saying/doing dumb/outrageous stuff.

Whoa....the Ryan guy could be it this year. He did a great job and has a unique voice. Its a mix of Alan Jackson/Randy Travis and he sang a country song.

And Paris is...wow. Its hard to believe she sounds that great as a singer. :eek:
