I guess my picks for him are definitely Nightcrawler, who I'm sure will be on his team since DG is supposed to be a Nightcrawler heavy story and he must have started to like the character. Unless he dies...

Rogue, please! Gambit too... Rachel Grey, Storm (but she seems unlikely for any title) and maybe Havok? Who knows.

Nightcrawler and Rachel sound like good bets since he likes them. Question is, how much of the rest of the Uncanny team he'll include? I hope Bishop and Cannonball stay, don't mind Psylocke either but she a character Chris brought back and molded a good deal so she might be up for grabs.

I agree he is "not big enough" for the general comic reading community, but this is where I would love to see Ed not be limited in any way. I am sure he could make it work if it is part of his plan.

I am not familiar with Ed's style, but I am liking the team as it is, and I hope he continues the ties between Rachel and Betsy. I like that, and he keeps Cannonball. I like him too.... :D

Hmm, how about Nightcrawler, Bishop, Psylocke, Sunfire, Rogue, Cecilia Reyes, and either Banshee or Forge.

I'm glad that Brubaker is taking over this book, but I still won't be buying it until Rachel is off it entirely.

Let's assume something is going to happen in June allowing a shifting of the rosters (likely Civil War), otherwise he will be stuck with the current team on Uncanny. I hope he keeps Cannonball on the team and maybe even makes him the leader. My main hope is that Marvel allows him to run with his own ideas for the book. Treat him the same as they have with Morrison and Whedon.
i too hope that something happens enabling a roster change before his run begins.
i'm thinking though that the astonishing x-men characters are going to be pretty much stuck in that book, though. you'll probably still have some wolverine appearances.

I hope Jean Grey aka Phoenix comes back and gets on a good team. I wonder how Brubaker would write her.

I bet Whedon could write a good Jean but I don't see how she could fit with Scott and Emma there as a couple. And supposedly his team will remain as is. I was kinda hoping that Whedon and Claremont could share Jean when she came back but I doubt that will happen now.

X-Men and Uncanny X-Men's teams are suppose to be changed. New Excaliburs team is so new that it will probably stay the same like Astonishing's is suppose to stay the same.

So it should be interesting to see the new lineups. I wonder if several characters will go back into limbo.

Since Milligans and Brubakers teams will be changed it should be interesting to see who they get and how well they can write some of these characters.

So the X-Men and Uncanny team rosters will change. So they could either rearrange the characters in those books or introduce new or old characters to replace some of those already in them, sending those characters to other books or limbo.

We will have to wait and see.

Right now the Astonishing team has 5 Movie characters in their team, Uncanny has 1 if you can still count Storm (2 if you count Nightcrawler even though he may not be in X3), X-Men has 2, and New Excalibur has 1.

At the moment Archangel (who will be introduced in X3) and Phoenix (who will be a starring character in X3) are not on any teams.

So I bet they will be assigned to some of the new teams.

It will be interesting to see what direction Brubaker takes this. I've always seen his stories as "human-level/street-level" (Point Blank, Captain America, now Daredevil) or "seedy underbelly" (Sleeper) in nature. I wonder if he'll go in either direction with the X-Men, or if he'll try his hand at a more "traditional" superhero story (which seems to be Deadly Genesis right now).

I have a feeling that I'm going to be reminded of Joe Casey by this run in its style, if not execution. That's not a bad thing.

Personally, I'd like to see Claremont take Nightcrawler, Marvel Girl, and Psylocke to Excalibur, but I'm pretty sure Brubaker will keep Nightcrawler in Uncanny, possibly as team leader.

I'd like Cannonball and Bishop to stay in Uncanny. I'd like to see Shadowcat away from Whedon and in either Brubaker's of Claremont's hands. I'd also like to see Forge return to the fold.

I would like to see Nightcrawler finally back in authoratitve role. He was great as leader of Excalibur, and I really liked the way that Warren Ellis wrote him.

Kurt aside, I'd like Rachel and Psylocke on this team also, as many others have said, and possibly Warren.

My main issue though, is that with Colossus over in Astonishing, Uncanny really needs another physical powerhouse of a mutant to balance out any team. With Juggernaut definitely staying over in Excalibur I'd like to see a return for a more powerful Rogue, or maybe Iceman finally getting to grips with using his powers again. On the brief occasions Boby has been allowed to push his ability towards its full potential he's actually be bloody sturdy. I'd love to see that again.

They didn't get saves in X-Men: The 198 to go into limbo. Marvel only saved the characters they planned on developing further. That was the whole point of Decimation. :p

That's a valid point, but it seemed those two had about the same reception as the Neo, and well, they sure have been tearing up the charts by appearing all over the place haven't they?

I'm just starting to think that T-Bird 3.0 and Lifeguard will go down as the "Hardcase and the Harriers" of this time period. Neal just never got enough development to get a solid feel for him (and a better codename probably would have helped), and Heather, while her powers are cool on paper, in practice they came across as too Deus Ex Machina.

I was responding to the poster that said that the depowered mutants were characters marvel didn't want to develop anymore, and Sunfire was on that list.
