Now Ive been wondering about this series It seems good, if but a little disturbing. I mean I look on the back and see a 8-10 year old pointing a sniper rifle going to kill something. And I go into hot Topic and see the same girl on a shirt pointing a 9 mill at ya. If its really good Ill look past the disturbing and get the first DVD i just need some input.

i only watched a little of it ..... it's bleak....

it one of those anime where you just know half the charactors are goinin to end up breathing their last in a pool of blood on a rainy night

the animation was ood from what i remeber of it and it had ood music

It's a very psychological piece. If there's such thing as "Shojo Action", I think this fits the bill. I like it. It's about the relationship between the Gunslinger Girls, cybernetically enchanced girls ranging from about 8 to 16, and their "Handlers", adult men from various police organizations that act as "older brothers" who take on guardian roles. Without giving it all away, it presents sort of a twisted relationship, but in the end really makes you think.

The anime is great, but avoid the manga, because it's almost the same thing as the anime. I think ADV manga tends to have that problem. Also, sometimes the manga artists forgets to drawn an eye on a character, I don't know why.

Yeah, it was a problem with the orginal japanese release as well, so the lack of a n eye isn't ADV's fault.

I like Gunslinger Girl. Character driven I like.

It's funny because the tv stations in Japan were disturbed by it too, and broadcast Gunslinger girl way late in the night and compelled the tv stations to change their ratings I think.

Ok, I was always on the fence on this show.
Sweet opening song, good animation, good character designs (the girls; the older brothers were plain as plain can get), nice weapon depiction but disturbing premise.

Only seen the first episode on youtube but that line of dialogue has just sold me.

I am gonna hereby actively hunt down and purchase the DVDs just to see how messed up this show is :)

I enjoyed the entire series - great animation and a deep story with solid, distinct characterizations.

Even though the tone is bleak - their are some uplifting characterstics in the plot. That's all I can say w/o giving away the way the series ends.

I recommend it.
