I have been lobbying hard to get everything from a miniseries about Creote past as a Russian elite solder to and ongoing featuring both Creote and Savant. Again whatever you do DON’T KILL OFF CREOTE AND SAVANT. Also more Josh apperences would be nice and, for the love of god, more Zinda.

For all we (the reader) knows they had an affair already and Savant forgot it. Creote, not one to abandon someone he cares about, stands by him. (Though I imagine the writer of the characters knows this...)

Should they have sex? On the page? Or just referred to? The answer all depends on the story. If the sex is a key story element, yes. If you think they love each other and want to point that out, then refer to the sex without spending a lot of time of it.

That's exactly my reading of Savant as well. The thought of having a relationship with a man or a woman probably hasn't occurred to him in a long time, if ever.

Savant and Creote will probably be the Deathstroke-Wintergreen of this decade.

And I'm not sure whether Creote actually wants anything to happen, anyway. Savant really seems to be all he has, and he's smart enough that I expect he doesn't want to risk their friendship by trying to take it to another level. It's easier and safer to secretly have a crush on him indefinitely. But I suspect it completely blew his mind when somebody called him on it, much less that it was a woman (since he seems to hold women in fairly low regard), much less a woman as "unpleasant" as he found Canary.

As for Creote and Savant, I think it would work nicely over time if Savant should stay clueless, and Creote maintained an unrequited love. He (Creote) may have occasional temporary flings with others, though. And Savant wouldn't pick up on those, either.

I don't think Creote will tell Savant. It's one of those quiet in the distant love deals. He'll sit there paitently pickicking up the pieces for Savant watching him toil through reltaionship after relationship. One day after thinking he'd lose Savant forever, Creote will reveal his true feelings.

A lot of people say that Creote gay because of this scene. However if you look closely you will see that quite the contrary is true. At first he is shocked by the question. Then he is embarrassed, as shown by the flush face, for Canary that she would even think to ask such a ridiculous question and that worse he should even have to answer. He actually speechless as he was so taken aback that she would make such a groundless acquisition. *sighs* Women. They think just because you turn them down that means they must be gay such vain creature you are. He answers "He does not," which means that he can’t know about his feeling because such feelings are nonexistent and exist strictly in Black Canary rejected fragile heart. Who can blame the poor creature?

The whole Creote gay confusion arises from the fact that he is a man of action and not words so some of what he says gets lost in the translation. The fact that English is his third or perhaps forth language dosen’t help matters when it comes to him making himself understood. You guys are buying all this right? Right.

At a get-together with the other Birds of Prey, Zinda drags him onto the dance floor and offers to show him a few more "steps", and he completely freezes up, stating firmly that he does "not wish to see these things". When he accompanies them on a mission to Russia, his old general sees him with the female operatives and declares that he always knew Creote was a devourer of women. This is supposed to be *ironic*. Later, when the women are changing for a fight with the Secret Six, a half-naked Helena demands that he turn around: Creote looks at once uncomfortable and as if she should be picking up on something obvious, and Helena replies, "I *know*, big guy. Turn around anyway." To *what* could she be alluding, hm?

Of course Creote looked shocked and embarassed when Dinah brought his deepest, darkest secret out into the open. He was utterly surprised that anyone had picked up on it, and as they were fighting at the time, how was he to know they wouldn't blow his cover? He doesn't know how Savant will react on learning of his true feelings, if the man will be shocked or disgusted or send him away or not, and that, for Creote, is probably his worst nightmare.

The Black Canary was only hitting on him earlier in the comic because she was trying to use every resource she had to escape from a seemingly hopeless situation, and sex appeal is definitely a weapon, or at the very least a distraction. As her internal monologue would reveal, she was indifferent about Creote's interest in her, and even a little relieved he ignored her flirting, as she didn't think he was very bright at that time. Furthermore, the way you generalize women and insult them the way you did and your condescending attitude towards the Black Canary's "rejected fragile heart" reeks of misogyny. Tone it down a little, bucko.

Creote may be a man of action, but is also very intelligent and capable, and speaks English fluently: honestly, from your grammar errors above, he speaks it *better*. As Dinah observes, the only time his accent has ever even shown through is when Savant was critically injured and unconscious post-torture. Creote's love for Savant is the only thing that can break his obviously iron control, and it can safely be assumed that he wouldn't be above tossing Savant's pretty arse down and driving them both to screaming fits at the word "Go."

With the exception of Cam and Kyuubi I haven’t been malicious with anyone (everyone) posting opinions opposite to mine so where’s the harm in me choosing to see things differently? As for my continued animosity against Cam and the penguin...well that's the kind of relationship we’ve always had and hopefully always will as I have a lot of fun interacting with those two. I hope they feels the same but if they don't or any of you feel that I’m going too far just pm me and I send you a heartfelt apology and desist all aggressive behavior towards you. I promise and I tend to keep those.

The Lester who typed that post is different from the person he has become now. Speaking in terms of teleology, he has matured since then.

Well, it seems like some folks are just gonna stick to their guns (and pitchforks) on this matter, but I'll post my response for the hell of it.

I still say it's a possibility that he's an inexperienced message board poster and a protective fan of those characters, and likely found this thread through a search engine looking for info/discussion about them. Not the best way to make your first post, but again, if you really believed Lester was being serious, it's easy to understand how someone could react like that to his posts. Especially if that person is more used to the way typical message boards function, which is a world apart from how YABS does, usually.

It's possible that he is just a troll, but for some reason, I think that's the less likely scenario.

And as for why he hasn't responded yet to defend himself, I would be wary of doing so if my reception was so chilly too. Granted, he didn't help matters with his post. But as I said earlier, it's easy to understand why someone would react that way if they didn't understand Lester's humor, or the relationships he has with posters here (many of which would seem hostile, or at least dismissive, to the uninitiated.)

If I'm wrong, I'm more than willing to eat my words on the matter. But usually, trolls don't post a well reasoned analysis (with a couple of barbs here and there, true, but none that I thought were too terrible). Even though he was off the mark, I think his post was intended to add to the discussion, not stir up trouble. I think it's possible that he could become a valued member of YABS once he gets the hang of how things work around here, assuming he's interested. But I have to admit, it took me a while to get the hang of things myself when I started posting here, so I guess I can sympathize.
