Do you think tht one of these days marvel will actually(excuse spelling) just make up brand new characters for the Ultimate Universe, characters tht have never been any where else? Or do you think they should?
I think they should it would be cooler instead of ultimizeing (excuse spelling) every marvel character ever created. It would make they storys more interesting. They should just bring in all the great marvel characters into the ultimate universe, then start making some new characters and just make brand new stuff. Maybe bring in a Marvel character every once and while.
What do you think?

Geldoff from Ultimate Spider-Man was new.
The Reserves from The Ultimates was new.
'The Magician' in Ultimate X-Men is supposed to be new.
Not to mention a lot of the Ultimatized characters don't share very many similarities to their 616 version. For the most part they're new characters with similar powers and names. Besides the whole point of the Ultimate Universe was fresh takes on existing characters and stories without eons of continuity to drag things down. :)

They already did. There are no 616 counterparts to Hawk-Owl and Woody.

If spoiler just say it is.

As Beast alluded to, if the only thing a character shares is a similiar name, perhaps a similiar power, are they old characters? For instance, let's take Longshot. Anyone going to confuse the Ultimate version for the original guy?

Heck no, Ultimate Longshot makes the 616 guy look even more like a pansy. :D

If original Ultimate characters are going to be as lame as Geldoff, then we're all better off sticking to Ultimatized versions of characters we already know.

Hey hey, wait a minute. As lame as Geldoff is, he is something supposedly big, that can be used (if well written) in a variety of ways. He's not human, not mutant, right? Something else = something big. Just give him time, he'll come around:D

You guys are naming new people who appeared in three panels .
I think the thread starter was talking about new major charaters of a team or new book.

It would be nice if we had something totally new and not an ultimate version. If you think back in the norma Marvel Universe, apart from The Sentry, who hasn't been used much, can you think of any new major characters, or B List, or C list, ok Bendis has created Jessica Jones, that's one...........any others?
I would love to see some completely new characters from the imagination of the new writers.

Well, then you're wrong. All three of those groups/characters I named are new characters who had a great deal of development. And I just remembered two more.
Unknown (Ultimate X-Men #41) - The Kid who's powers kill 265 people in his home town due to his uncontrollable powers, who goes into a cave to hide. Wolverine shows up and stays with him, since he's the only person who won't die due to exposure to his powers thanks to his healing factor. Wolverine kills him in the morning after much talking and sharing of beers.
Syndicate (Ultimate X-Men 58) - Conjoined twins mutant that uses their powers to try to rob a bank to pay for his sister's medical care. Xavier eventually manages to reach him and convince him to give up, and he'll help his sister. In exchange, the kid agrees to deal with his problems coming from the estate of Sebastian Shaw who Jean killed in the Hellfire and Brimstone arc.

They still had full issues dedicated to them. So they're still not 'Three Panel' characters. :)

If they are bringing old characters from the 616, i'd kill to see Shatterstar & Kylun team up. I mean they both are master swordsmen after all. Maybe they could take on Ultimate Black Knight and Ultimate Swordsman?
Maybe bring in Ultimate Sabretooth if they haven't or even the original Weapon X/Team X team in their ultimate versions. As I rather do like Maverick over Agent Zero.

You could take on Black Knight. He's an overenthusiastic LARPer.

i could? Depends on which LARP. I've been wanting to get into VtM.
What i meant was, those 2 mutants could take on the evil versions of the Black Knight and Swordsman. They were both bad guys right? Only one I know was really bad is Black Knight V2.
