View Full Version : Will HHH hold RVD back again?

With RVD's return for the Rumble confirmed, will his momentum be halted just like it was in 2002 by the same guy, HHH? Ever since HHH returned to the WWE back in early '02, the great push that RVD had while working matches and feuds with Rock, Austin, Jericho, Angle, Undertaker, and everyone else around that time pretty subsided. He was on the cusp of being a maineventer by WM 18 but thanks to horrible booking of making the Undisputed title about Stephanie and HHH instead of then-current champ Chris Jericho..things haven't been the same since. RVD is as OVER as anyone in wrestling and easily makes a believable WWE Champ. Will he go far in the Royal Rumble? Does he have ANY chance of winning it? And will HHH hold him back down even moreso than his '02 run?

To answer your question: no. He will be held back by management and the writers instead. :D

That would be the token answer, wouldn't it? Whatever it takes to cover up HHH's tracks...
I wonder if they will push RVD for a few months or just try to bury him after WM?

He'll probably be stuck in midcard hell along with guys like Benjamin, Matt Hardy, and a bunch of other guys that deserve pushes but won't get them.

I don't know about your but if creative actually takes the time to think of the Mama benjamin angle and hire someone to be in your corner and actually booked you to win , i'll say that Benjamin is being pushed right now.

I hope they build Benjamin back up to his prior levels by Summerslam so there can be an opportunity for a RVD/Benjamin ladder match to happen. After all, besides Michaels, Shelton Benjamin is the guy that RVD wants to mix it up with the most.

I would rather see RVD mix it up with Benjamin in a ladder match, Benjamin can at least go full speed with RVD.HBK is too old for a ladder match and with his injuries , doesn't need to have to do high risk stunts again.

If Vince doesn't book Rob against Micheals at Wrestlemania with a ladder match , then he's more f-cking stupied than I give him credit for. No one wants to see McMahon/Micheals there. Its clear fans wanna see Rob Van Dam and its time to push him and stop throwing him in lower card hell .
I'm gonna add a little thing to my RAW Reviews....like Letterman did Oprah . ;)

The title should have "Vince McMahon" in it, not HHH.

Vince listens to his daughter and his son-in-law , more so now that he's getting a grandson out of them.

Given that there's never been any talk about an RVD/Michaels match, let alone a ladder match, and that all talk regarding Michaels at 'Mania has involved Angle, I think it's safe to say that the imaginary RVD/Michaels ladder match will not be at Wrestlemania.

That ladder match is SuperECW dream wrestlemania match , not that it will happen. I don't believe HBK is up for it physically anyway . I hope when RVD comes back , he'll have a feud with Benjamin. They should bring back the hardcore title so that all the midcarders not having a match at 'mania can go at it in a hardcore royal rumble type match or something.

Of course, pointing out that HHH can't do what you claim he does is elegant proof of a coverup.
As far as I can remember, only one wrestler has ever made a big deal about refusing to do a 'job' and had it confirmed not only by dirt sheet writers and internet 'reporters' but by himself and other guys in the sport. That guy was Bret Hart, and he's practically a saint online. It seems very odd sometimes.

Bring back the Hardcore title if you wish but whatever you do, don't CLUTTER Benjamin and Van Dam in messy match like that. This IS Wrestlemaina and if the main events stay on the track I see? It's a show that's gonna need a RVD/Benjamin Ladder Match to get those fans out their seats and chanting "Holy Sh**". Just IMAGINE what those two can do in the same ring in that atomsphere. If you thought RVD went far against Eddie in '02 or Shelton's highlights at WM 21 were grand, I could see some fun stuff happening if they did this match on this stage.

No no no , i'm not saying that Van Dam and Benjamin should be put in a hardcore royal rumble or something. Way i see it , Ric Flair should drop the belt to RVD or Shelton , then have RVD & Shelton compete in a ladder match for the intercontinental title straight up or have something similiar to last year - the money in the bank ladder match or just the intercontinental title hanging. Maybe Carlito vs Masters vs RVD vs Shelton vs Chavo Guerrero or Snitsky.
The hardcore title belt should be brought back though so that the lower midcarders like Tomko , Viscera , snitsky , gregory etc can have a battle royal match or something at 'mania.
