Good news, both about SciFi airing it AND about the forthcoming DVD set.

I watched a lot of the Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker and uh..the next guy...about twenty years ago. How do these new episodes hold up by comparison? And do they keep the original continutiy?

I'd love to see the older stuff made available on DVD in complete season sets.

The next guy was Sylvester McCoy.

Eccleston is awesome. He reminds me a lot of Bugs Bunny on his way to Pismo Beach. He doesn't really use a lot of gadgets. Just a new version of his sonic screwdriver and something called psychic paper (he can use it to make people think it's whatever credentials he needs).

Continuity: They've kept all the big stuff. There are Daleks, Cyber Men, Sarah Jane & K-9 (they'll be showing up in season 2), etc.

But there was something big that happened between the old show and the new show: The Time War. They don't go into great detail, but the Time Lords are all gone. The Doctor is the only one left. The others were literally erased from existence.

As for David Tennant (the new Doctor), all I can say is that I like what I've seen.

Really? Wow. What about the Master?

Well, he died in the movie from the 90's.

I've read somewhere (don't recall where) that they fully intend to bring him back eventually. All I can say for sure is that to the Doctor's knowledge, both sides of the Time War erased themselves from history. He was the only survivor, and I get the feeling that he thinks of himself as a mass murderer. A lot of survivor's guilt.

Eccleston's Who can be light-hearted, but anything related to the Time War brings on a lot of sadness.

And Captain Jack! Captain Jack rocks.
