... meh.
Some of it was awesome at the time... most wasn't very good at all.
In all honesty I'm surprised Marvel is bringing back such a failed experiment when readership is at such a low!

I truly believe that Quesada has no idea which ideas are good and which ideas are bad. For years now, he's been trying everything, just to see what sticks.

Sounds good to me. I loved the four New U titles that survived the first year... a lot of good concepts that never really got explored the way they could have.
(Kind of like CrossGen.)

I liked the New Universe. I collected Psi-Force and D.P. 7. I picked up the one-shots, mini-series and Star Brand #12 [Origin of White Event]. Years later, I picked up the whole Star Brand and Nightmask runs. I even got the crossover in Quasar and the awful StarBlast miniseries. It was an interesting concept but it didn't have the sales that were needed to continue. The series that I thought sucked was Justice. I'll be picking up the books, just not Justice.

It looks pretty interesting how they`re going to approach it, very science-based and so forth. I trust Ellis.

Honestly, is it even legal in this day & age to have a book called DP7? ;) :D :p

You say this as if it's a bad thing.
It's not like anyone has to purchase the bad ideas, so it's Marvel's loss, not the fans'.
If he killed more ideas at the idea stage, we might miss out on some pretty good ones. "An 'Ultimate' universe? New universes never sell, let's not bother with it."
A lot of ideas, it's hard to know if they're good or bad until implementation. "The Hulk as a leg-breaker in Vegas? Yeah, right. Let's have him smash some more army guys instead, okay?"

I think that book better relaunch under the MAX line.

I loved Psi-Force and D.P. 7 so those two titles coming back would be great.
But I would guess that it's going to be a one time thing with the original stuff before Warren Ellis gets his hands on the thing.

so, it doesn't effect me whatsoever.

I LOVE New Universe, especially Starbrand....
Sigh, reality in comics before it was popular.

All I can say is that it's Trademark Renewal Season! Can't let DC publish a Kickers Inc book, y'dig?

Back in the day when I was a geek, I got all these titles. Not very many of them were good. You can't let the license exprire right? But seriously, any book can be good if it is done well. but didn't the world die in 'The Pit'? How do they explain that?

Nah. The Pitt just turned it from a "realistic" setting to a post-apocalyptic setting.
I think all the one-shots will be pre-Pitt, though.
