Thought I would let everyone know that Marvel is going to have a sale on the rest of their in stock House of M variants. Here is Diamonds notice to retailers:

"Marvel Offers New Year House of M Variant Sale
Marvel Comics' House of M was one of the most earth-shattering
events to hit the comic industry in 2005, and each issue was made even
hotter by variant covers from some of the most sought-after artists in
the business! Now, Marvel is giving fans another chance to collect
these modern masterpieces by offering retailers its New Year House of M
Variant Sale, which runs from January 11 through February 5, while
supplies last!
Under the terms of this promotion, retailers who order the House
of M Variant Sale Set will receive one each of the following can't-miss House of M Variant Covers: Director's Cut #1, Quesada Variant Cover #1, Dodson Variant Cover #2, Cassaday Variant Cover #3, Peterson Variant Cover #4, McKone Variant Cover #5, Land Variant Cover #6, Larroca Variant Cover #7,
Bachalo Variant Cover #8, Madureira Convention Edition #1 and Coipel
Gatefold Variant #1.
Please Note: This offer is limited to three per retailer, while
supplies last. Sets are scheduled to ship on February 15.
Combined, these books have a minimum retail value of nearly $35,
and potentially even more in the secondary market, making this a great
way to stock up on some in-demand books at a fraction of the cost!
Confirm your orders today!"

This might make these sets a little easier to find and cheaper to get for those who have been looking for them.

full sets like that already go for less than the $35 retail on ebay.

This is what happens when a series is overhyped and overproduced.

I'm on record: "variants suck."

I still can't decide what the "M" *really stands for... money or meh?

Out of curiousity, are any of these variant covers in chrome? If there's one thing Marvel tried to teach us in the 90's, it's that shiny = quality.

That's because they already did that and the sets shipped like 4 weeks ago.

Yeah I actually thought the Essad Ribic covers totally kicked every other variant cover's asses aside from the Secret Wars'ish Larroca cover. The Ms. Marvel one wasn't too bad either but I liked Coipel's rendition on the inside a bit more.

i thought pretty much every one of the variants killed the originals. ribic was nice when he first came out (or at least the first time i really got in to his work on loki), but after that he fell off hard. i'm that way with most painters though. i see their work the first time and it looks great, the the wow factor goes quick and it just looks stiff dull.
