I ask this because I've never seen the Thing leap for miles even though his strength is comparable to base-level Hulk's.
How come Hulk is the only super strong character who leaps around like that?

The Abomination is able to do it, too.

I'm pretty sure I've seen Wonderman do it, when the belt jets conked out. Back before he could fly.

I think Doc Samson has done this as well, but I think pretty much any super strong character could do this if they really wanted to.

Spidey can leap far because of his super-strong leg muscles coupled with agility, but not nearly on the level of hulks 3 miles. (I think I've heard 3 blocks a few times?)

If he could leap three blocks, he wouldn't need to web swing.

If I'm not mistaken, Samson can jump, but not the same as the Hulk, etc.

I don't think there is anybody else that can leap like the Hulk. He is unique in that respect. In his early appearance, he actually flew. I think he did that once and then they changed it to him leaping around. If you read his bio, it's stated that he has the most developed leg muscles in the Marvel Universe. I don't know of ANY other heroes in any universe that have been shown to leap into outer space. In regards to leaping, the Hulk out-jumps them all. I have to amend that last statement, the Grasshopper was shown to jump into outerspace, where he died. This happened in the GLA Christmas special. Of course, that doesn't count because he was using the Grasshopper suit.

According to my old Marvel cars he used to be able to leap at least 30 feet high. Far as I remember, he could jump a long ways, but the swinging makes it easier for him to get around.

30 feet is 10 yards. Even if his running leap is longer than his vertical leap, hell, double it, your average block is still longer than 20 yards.

The Golden Age Superman originally couldn't fly, but he could leap an eighth of a mile. His leaping powers increased over time, and eventually he could fly.

Doesn't the Thing weigh a lot more than Hulk due to his rocky build. That might make a difference with him leaping. He looks to have shorter legs too I think.

Thing weighs up to three tons tops. And his class strength is around 85, so it's just laziness on his part. I mean, if my friend was building me vehicles to move me around, I'd use them too.

Hulk could fly in the beginning and Superman just leaped really far. Then it became the reverse for both, not that they were both created at the same time but you know what I mean.
I wonder how things would be if they had stayed the way they did from the beginning.

No the thing does not weigh three tons... the most i have seen quoted in any guides anywhere is 650 pounds.
And no it is not lazyness...he can't do it. maybe he can't bend his legs far enough because of his hide...maybe he cant bend his legs fast enough because of his hide, but he even said once (when he was the big pineapple thing and they were fighting Kang during inferno) that he could not jump like the hulk.

I said UP to. As in, I was giving him an upper ceiling. Not stating it WAS 3 tons. And it was just an analogue to his strength class stating it should be possible for long distance jumps.
And in that second shot, NOBODY can jump like the Hulk. If we said that Thing had muscles, their tinsle strength wouldn't be proportionate to Hulk's. Hulk's would just be more. Hence, Hulk can jump several miles, Thing probably only jumps one city, if he wanted to. But since it's never really been addressed (courtesy of being spoiled on Reed's endless amount of gadgets) we wouldn't know. But to say that the Thing's legs don't bend in the way that would allow him to jump would be like saying he can't walk at all, or run for that matter. Since the same bending is needed. And we KNOW Thing can run. Since a good chunk of his fights start out with the Thing running straight into it. Not shuffling head long into battle. So I'm going with laziness rather than the Thing having all the strength and lightness requirement, but the power's that be simply state that the Thing can't jump.
I'm willing to bet most powerhouses can jump like Hulk since they've got metapowerful legs.
For Wonderman, when he was without his jet belt, he just thought one day "if Hulk can do it, so can I" and he did it (almost kind of pathetic that Hulk thought of it before a lot of other class 100 power houses).

Other bricks, including the Thing, have made big leaps, but just occasionally. I think it's for the same reason you don't hear other bricks besides the Thing shout "It's clobberin' time" - that's the Thing's gimmick. The jumps are the Hulk's gimmick.

I think Spider-Man can definitely do the Hulk style leaps if he wanted to although he wouldn't get as far. If he didn't have the webshooters it would be his only mode of transportation alongside wall crawling which is slow as hell.
Same for Thor and Mjolnir.
Hulk's leaps are awesome and are pretty iconic, the best examples of this are the Hulk movie in the desert where he has to take a couple of bounces to reach maximum jump height and in the Hulk 2 game where it's very well realized and fun to do.

I don't Spider-Man can jump anywhere as far as Hulk can. Hulk can jump for miles...and into outer space.
Spidey can barely jump a few floors up vertically, and he can jump a block or two horizontally for the very most.
That said, I'm sure Spidey could get around quite well without webs in an urban setting.
Hulk just has dibs on a lot of moves. The jumping obviously.
He's also got the Thunderclap. Really ANY moderately high end brick should be able to create the same effect by simply slapping their hands together. They may not be able to generate the same level of force since Hulk is probably stronger than MOST, but most should be able to do it to some degree.

If I were to give Hulk a fighting style I think pro-wrestling would likely be the best since alot of them are power moves that would work in his favor and you can also see that in the Hulk 2 game.

Before the Null field cancelled the kinetic energy generated, Aquarian used to do it as well.

This may not be the answer you are looking for, since this character is no longer in use, but check out the description of "Electro" (http://www.geocities.com/jjnevins/electro.html) from Marvel's Golden Age.
"Electro is capable of many things; he has superstrength, can run over 100 miles per hour, can perform Hulk-leaps across many miles, and is invulnerable to bullets and cannon fire."
