Couldn't something be done w/ the planet? I mean it's on the opposite side of the 616 Earth and all I know there could be a story for it somewhere. What would you do w/ it?

I was just reading it in the 198 files about Franklin Richards and I thought it's be cool to see a stroy about it. Kinda maybe something ala War of the Worlds.

And Earth on the other side of the sun that shares the exact same orbit with Earth. Since it is on the other side of the sun at all times, we never see it.

There have been a few. It usually gets destroyed and then replaced.

The most recent Counter Earth was the Heroes Reborn world that Franklin Richards created, eventually ruled over by Doom after it got sucked into the mainstream reality.

I remember last seeing it in the old Thunderbolts series...it was used for one of the storyline were one team of T-bolts on counter-earth saving it and trying to make it a better place when the team came back to 616 Jolt stayed behind to help the people.

The current Counter Earth is the Heros Reborn Earth created by Franklin Richards. When all the heros left and came back home that earth started to fall apart. In the end Doom was able to bring the Counter Earth over to the main universe, but the planet was nearly destroyed in the process. Most of the governments collpased and it is pretty much a lawless world. When last seen in the pages of the Thunderbolts it was started to get back on it feet slowly with the help of the heroes of that world and Jolt.

I do think it is a good world to set some stories on since it is nealry a postapocylptic landscape for a big chunk of the world. What might be a good idea would be if some of that mutant energy that shot off into space in the X-Men Deadly Genesis mini might hit Counter Earth and create some mutants there since that world didn't have many if any at all.

It had a few mutants. But I believe the Scarlet Witch was it's ONLY mutant that I can think of.

Actually IIRC the Heroes Reborn Scarlet Witch got her powers because she was the Enchantress' daughter.

Correction. There were no mutants in the Hero's Reborn version.

I'd like to see Doom return as it's ruler and REALLY gather an army (unlike when he and Reed had to team up and got switched and yadda yadda) this time and cause a REAL War of the Worlds. Imagine an army of both heroes and villians led by Doom taking on the heroes of Earth. Let Doom lead the remaining characters of Counter Earth and a few new ones and cause havoc on a level only Doom can.
