If you could only save one endangered animal (http://yahooligans.yahoo.com/science_and_nature/living_things/animals/endangered_species/), and the rest all went extinct, which would it be?

I say Panda's. They're just...kind of wierd, but cool.

Manatees. They're adorable in a hideous way.

And also taste like chicken.

They supposedly also inspired the Mermaid legend, which just shows how lonely it gets out at sea.

Well you'll see big alligators, and long-necked geese
Some humpty-back camels and some chimpanzees
You'll see cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born
You ain't gonna see no unicorns.

Unicorn.

When the last eagle flies over the last crumbling mountain
And the last lion roars at the last dusty fountain
In the shadow of the forest though she may be old and worn
They will stare unbelieving at the last unicorn

Am I a pussy for liking that movie?

I think I might be.

Not according to the Dutch. ;)

From Wikipedia: Dodos were hardly ever eaten by the Portuguese, who found the birds hard to eat and very messy. Dutch records concur. The Dutch settlers called it the Walgvogel ("disgusting bird") for the unpleasant taste and texture of the meat. No Dodo bones have been found in the old middens of the Dutch fort Frederik Hendrik.

Hey, I grew up in the Ozarks, OK?

At least in my day, we could get our possum at the store. Grandpa had to hunt for his by moonlight.

Yeah, definitely glad I didn't ask..

On the bright side, on a hot day the meat is already pretty well cooked...

Yeah, but you have to flip it to get it to cook evenly. Otherwise you get a possum McDLT. And that's just gross.

Everything tastes like chicken, except the things that taste like pork or beef.

The joy comes in knowing you've just eaten 1/10 or 1/100 of an entire species!

Not in my neck of the woods.
We also have a healthy population of mullets.
And, if you’re lucky you may even spot a Rat Tail.

It's extinct, and not being re-issued until Tom Cruise comes out of the closet.

Argh! Ethiopian Wolves or Red Wolves? Red Wolves or Ethiopian Wolves?

Hmmmm. Maybe if we clear out one of the unendangered species, there'll be room for both to survive.

I would choose hybrid spider monkeys and tigers. Then, for a sizable fee, you could watch which one becomes endangered and finally extinct when both species are pitted against one another. The show's not over until the last of the spider monkey is consumed.

Reminds me of the spider wasps from Sliders.

*mourns the show that started off beautiful but died a slow, miserable agony of a death*

The once massive herds of hippies are starting to dwindle. I kinda like the little buggers myself.
