It's too damn hot in Perth and all my posters are falling down.

Is there anyway I can stop them from performing this action?

Have them drink lots of water and not post while standing up. (That's bad for your posture, anyway.)

Just kidding! Seriously... um, I don't know. Are you allowed to nail or tack them up?

õ
I wish it were hot over here!

Unfortunately their on the walls so nails and tacks are out of the question.

You want it to be so hot that you're sweating by just sitting around?

*Thump* OW!

*Gets back on his feet*

Sorry, lost my balance for a second. What were you saying, West?

õ
That just happens, sometimes!

Oh. Tsk!

I'd much rather sweat than shiver. I love hot weather, and right now I'm shivering.

õ
Brrrr!

Heh - good one. Gave me a smile. :D

Where are you Twilight that it's so hot.

And it's the humidity, not the heat (guessing) . . .

Perth,Western Australia.

That's what I meant.Thankyou for correcting me.That's how I learn :)

It is unseemly, I have to admit. ("Why can't you just pant, like the rest of us?")

So how hot is it over there? And when can you expect it to cool down a bit?

õ
Or at least get drier!

The only solutions I can think of are get some humidity control like air conditioning . . .

Or frame your posters. Poster frames aren't all that expensive, and can actually "dress-up" the appearance.

Get some sticky tack...It's great....I don't think the mouisture will make it fall either. It's like silly puddy, cept it doesn't copy the newspaper funnies on it. I was so disappointed that day..... :(

They are attached with sticky/blu tack.

twilight needs material advice:

Unfortunately their on the walls so nails and tacks are out of the question.

So I assume your walls are cement or cinder block or some such that you can't drive nails into?

I've lived in a lot of basements with walls like that (and basements get more humid than the rest of the house). What I've found that works decently are those "mounting squares". They're like pad with adhesive on both sides. Only problem is that to mount them properly on walls like that, the walls must be both CLEAN and DRY. Probably almost impossible to achieve at your present humidity. It's worth your best shot, but no guarantees. There's also a similar "mounting putty" that works about the same, but seems to have a hard time holding up heavier, larger posters.

Good luck sweaty!

No prob. I'm good at household repair/modification stuff, mostly because I'm usually too broke to do things RIGHT, so I find cheap alternatives. :p

I even helped fly on the wall prevent a flood in his basement, once!

I dont know if we are talking about the same thing here but have you heard of the 3M hooks? They were always on Bright Ideas? Well you can get just the adhesive bit without the hooks. I use them for my posters and they come off easily without damaging the walls. You can get them from Big W and most hardware stores.

No they didnt pay me to say that.

Yup, sounds like essentially the same thing.

The hooks suck, though, if you're trying to hang anything heavier than a hat.

I had the same problem in my old dorm room. Colleges make tons of money by selling you expensive posters in the student book store and then, because it's the beginning of the semester (still August), the damn things fall down from the heat. It's not fun to wake up at 4 am to a giant "Pulp Fiction" poster falling onto your face.
