I'v only had a chance to purchase the first TPB (the Polish edition of th second one i going to hit the shelves in february or late january). To be honest I expected much more. Don't get me wrong- I liked It. I just excepted much more. I don't like the way It's drawn- but as the second instalment is drawn by someone I shouldn't be a problem anymore. I also thought that the story will be... hmmm... Richer? I don't know. It just didn't had "it". But I'll deffinitly pick the second TPB. It's a overall fun read and It's only like 7$ in our corrency so It'a a cheap read. ;)

It get's alot more involved as it gets a little further into the tale. I've only read the first three trades thus far and I absolutely love it.

I like it. We did interviews with Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore for our upcoming German edition of "The Walking Dead" and Tony told us, that he reads "everything Mignola touches". So, he's a friend of mine. ;) No kidding, Moore really is a great artist (especially his faces are great - and his coloring is awesome) and he had some very interesting things to say. Looks like Kirkman is the more conservative type and Moore ist the free thinking artsy guy. Too bad, that he worked relatively slow (he also did the brilliant greytones and covers), so Kirkman decided to change the artist with the second storyline.

German hardcover editions of Hellboy, B.P.R.D., Sin City, The Walking Dead and more ... www.cross-cult.de

The art keeps me away from this series. I wish I liked it more. I'd love to support more zombie books.

Huh?
From what I heard he wanted to do his own comics, fear agent, etc, so Kirkman took someone else in to draw the book

I'm still reading this but I'm finding I like it less and less as it goes. The main characters talk a little too much and some of the events are kind of hard to believe. I'm not really enjoying where the comic is going. It reminds me in some ways of Y- The Last Man which in a lot of ways jumped the shark from the get go and knowing that it's more fun and enjoyable but this has been a slow crawl towards that level. They really need to get some action going from the outside perhaps from the zombies or the military because all the infighting and soap opera dramatics is wearing thin for me.

Also, while they art is fine it really could work just as well in color and sometimes I wish it was.

the character development is what sets it apart from everything else....its like what would happen if Romero directed an HBO series. I never thought I'd be able to read an on-going zombie book but I love this. Its been a while since I've been this excited about a comic in general (aside from The Goon and HB stuff). Kirkman does a great job.
