I was trying to open that Ultimate Showdown file from the make me laugh thread and got this:

Putfile Says Goodbye To Singapore

At dawn on December 2nd 2005, Singapore hanged a citizen of Australia, despite a plea for clemency from the United Nations. Whilst Putfile is not a human rights campaigning organization, we believe that if a country must have the death penalty, there is no need for it be barbaric. It is enough of a punishment, and a deterrent, to take someone's life in a painless manner, without having to be barbaric about it. Putfile prefers to not continue to provide our free uploading service to a country that executes prisoners by hanging, a method of execution which can take up to six minutes to painfully execute the victim.

For this reason, we are at this time terminating all service to users from Singapore. We shall be happy to restore service following any positive move from the government of Singapore towards abolition of hanging as an execution method.

Can someone please explain the whole "getting shot" thing? I've been reading posts about it for months now and I've never quite understood it. Is is a punishment? A warning? A contest that you can win?

I've let it go this far, but my curiosity has gotten the better of me.

I’m not sure how many issues of Birds of Prey you own so I’m going to be vague in answering your question. There was an arc where where the birds went to Singapore. In writing that arc Yogo was instrumental in helping Gail so as a reward she made Anthony Yeoh(Yogo) a minor drug dealer in issue 81. In issue 85 Anthony was revealed for the rat fink bastard that he was so Gail shot five times and he died a slow painful death in issue 85. And he hasn’t stopped bitching about it since his mysterious resurrection. :mad:

The Singapore arc was a very important one that paid off all the main and sub plots of Gail’s entire run so I’m sure its going to be collected into a trade if you don’t own it.

You didn’t ask but since Yogo is now a character of the DCU he is lobbying to be the new Blue Beatle hence his title. Hopefully Gail won’t write said issue of Blue Beatle because Gail once said something to the effect of having Dr Light “attack” Yogo the way Sub Dibny was. I would pay good money to see that I really would.

All part of the communication blanket designed so both men can sneak in and out of country undetected. Putfile is the only the beginning. Word around the pirate and ninja campfire(we’ve united for this endeavor) is that putfile is only the beginning. Like the Bourne movies except trouble when your power goes out suddenly.

Its the amalagram of Superman and Punisher. This character was spawned off of the Marvel VS DC crossover about ten years back. Believe it or not both Marvel and DC stopped publishing their books for a couple of weeks to cover this man and others of his ilk exploits. As shocking as it is to believe the event was so successful both companies did it twice. It was a cool concept because they were fusing characters like Captain America and Batman Prof. X and Docter Fate but it sucked. Good god did it suck Anyone else here remember Access?
