View Full Version : What kinds of aliens do you want to see in the Green Lantern Corps?

A large part of the fun of the concept is seeing how many different, wacked-out ideas the creators throw out there. Parrot-men, giant-heads with wee little arms and legs, giant eyeballs with tentacles, talking chipmunks, sentient planets have all been members of the Corps thus far.
What crazy aliens would you like to see next?

I would give up my first born son to see the last Czarnian Lobo get a Green Lantern Ring and join the corps. It would be awesome to see if there would be enough room in the Corps for both Lobo and Guy Gardner.

Yeah, it could look like a huge black widow spider, only with a green lantern symbol in place of the red hourglass symbol.
A Green Lantern who looks like a blend of George Lucas & Steven Spielberg, but is not from Earth.
I'd love to see...
Daxamite GLs- maybe we'll see the character Sodal Yat Alan Moore wrote about those many years ago.
Kryptonian GLs- sure it would be a 'Tales of...' situation but It would be cool to see the House of El pick up the ring.
Martian GLs- little green men need to stick together.
Thangarian GLs- just because a combination of Hawkwings and a ring would look visually neat.
Coluan GLs- Imagine how obnoxious a brilliant GL would be. And then imagine the conversations it would have with Guy Gardner.
Atlantean GLs- I wonder if Aquaman's people tell stories about the GL that talked to fish.

One of my favorites back in the pre-crisis days was Xax, an insect GL. He starred in a two-part story where his homeworld, populated by various insectoid creatures, was invaded by spider-like aliens. It was a good story with really freaky artwork.

Hmm... Let's see... Glcorps.org has it as GL series 2, issue 190. (Their webpage for Xax, includes spoilers (http://glcorps.org/xax.html)) I believe it was a two part story, though. I remember a cliffhanger.

I'd vote for the race from the Obsidian Deeps. Y'all remember Rot Lop Fan, right? Seriously, let's start an F-Sharp Bell Corps!
It's just such a cool concept; an alien race that evolved without sight and therefore has no concept of sight, no words in their language for light or color. Alan Moore created a cool character with Rot Lop Fan, the F-Sharp Bell, and he deserves his props.

You know for some reason, after about 5 seconds of thought, a second thought accrued to me. What if a male human like or human lantern wore the ring on his wang? lol I'm sorry sorry, it's just the idea that when Wonder Woman askes him where his ring is he can say "In my pants."
