You won't believe this guys but I just read on Ronee Garcia's blog that a famous male animal actor (who goes unnamed) has been accused of sexually assulting a now-adult child actress, also unnamed. What's worse is that the actress is currently engaged to another animal actor, who is not named, but is female! PETA spoke out against the harassment of humans by animals but also against any kind of punishment.
Asked to comment on the situation, Frank Miller remarked, "that's totally queer."
If I'm guessing correctly this forum will now go completely apeshit over this story and harsh words and bad feelings are sure to ensue.

I forgot to mention that "vegetarianism being a good idea" and a "shameful gay marriage ban" were also involved but I didn't want things to get too out of hand.

Ask Pip. Oh wait, were you talking about the harassment or the vegetables? ;)

So? Why you telling us this? Why should I care if some man harasses an animal. Maybe the animal likes it? We don't have all the facts!!!!! Facts!!!!! Where are the freaking man-animal loving facts!!!!

I'm not sure it'd be thick enough for the job.
I know the Sydney area phonebook would be well up to the task.

Anyway, as someone who did years of volunteer work, I don't take sexual assault lightly. Sorry.
You guys feel free to act as you wish.

I wasn't intending to make light of sexual assault, just making a comment on the argumentative nature of message boards. It's satire. Granted, poor, amateurish satire, but message boards are a limited medium.

Lately it seems like ANYTHING that turns out to suck is suddenly satire. However Mr. Tumnus will always be a satyr.

Pure brilliance. However did you think of it? I'm wowed by your insight and profundity.

I'm not necessarily pissed as much as I am disgusted with your weak attempt at humor. You're a poor comedian and a poor judge of taste if you think parodying a sexual assault discussion is "nyuk nyuk" funny. Do you really need the attention that badly?
I'm with Gail on this one. Sorry.

I'm confused as to why you'd expect us to go crazy over this except that making fun of the sexual abuse of children is hardly a worthy target for humor.

You took a chance with some risky material in making your joke. Fair enough, I do that every week on stage, sometimes for comedy you have to push things too far. But here's a tip, when your audience gets angry or offended, don't insult them. Don't call them dorks, PC, over sensitive or anything else. You don't need to apologize but people responding honestly and being angered is part of the risk you took.
You did your joke. People responded. Now move on.

Well, I let pennywisdom by with the first one. Yeah, I put it out there so if someone wants to comment on it, fine. Having a comment is fine, but when you say personal things not once but twice, I'm gonna talk shit. Phrasing a criticism in the way Gail or Gilda did I don't have problem with, because they weren't attacks. As you know Ian, as a fellow zombie movie fanatic, that I have nothing but love for my fellow man. ;)
