I'm going with Kyle here.

Alan Scott, if you want someone statesmanlike.

El Santo

Wonder Woman. I tend to prefer heroes who make tough decisions, deal with setbacks and tragedy with strength and resolve, and who don't go around blaming problems on other people.

Kyle is definitely a great pick here to.

It's such a sad thing when the Big 3 becoming less heroes covers up the rest of the JLA doing more than their fair share of the work.

I was actually going to say Jay Garrick. But...hmm. I'll go with Wally West. Finds out that his mentor had the Top mindwiped, and did the right thing in having him UN-mindwiped, even though he knew it would cost him later.

Blue Beetle......before he died.

Next pic would be Captain Marvel

The Midnighter.

And, yes, I'm aware he is neither heroic nor in the DCU.

Oddly enough, after reading Villains United, I'll have to go with Catman. Even though he is a Villain, he has the makings of a great hero, and even knocked down Green Arrow for what he did.

The Shade.

Depends on who's writing..

Hell, by the end of Villains United I could see Catman as the most heroic guy anywhere...

I'd say the collective JSA... Jay Garrick, Allan Scott, Wild Cat, Dr. Mid-Nite, Stargirl, Jakeem, Hourman and Mr Terrific.

Add another vote to Kyle Rayner.
Can't get much more heroic than that guy.

I'd like to say Kyle or Wally, but I can't.

Gotta go with Captain Marvel here. He went up against the Tangible Right Hand of God one-on-one (at first. He never asked for help), knowing that he was going to be killed. All he had to do was fight pretty much the most powerful being in the DCU single-handedly while Shazam got ready to take him on. He went to Budapest planning to die at the hands of the Spectre. He had no clue about the Shadowpact or anyone else. He knew he would be flying in and fighting God's Terrible Swift Sword on his own. And he went anyway.

That's heroic.

Okay, probably not enough people are aware of the true heroic age (starting in the 30th century), so as a backup I'll choose a "modern" hero too:

Uncle Sam. Always has been the most heroic... always will be.

my vote is for Captain Atom, look at all he has done.
